I’ve listened to You Are In Love by my gal Taylor Swift at least 10 times today. Frankly, I think it’s one of the last true moments of Taylor writing at her most-innocent/vulnerable best. Taylor had a penchant for writing songs that really took a good tug at your heartstrings. You Are In Love is a perfect example. The instrumentation sets the tone, the lyrics are hopelessly romantic and vulnerable. They just seemed real… so in touch with what “we” go through when love starts, love ends, love fades.
You Are In Love was released as a deluxe bonus track of Taylor’s album 1989. It was met with amazing fanfare, as it truly is such an engaging listen with lyrics that are poignantly touching and reminiscent of young love.
You can hear it in the silence, silence, you
You can feel it on the way home, way home, you
You can see it with the lights out, lights out
You are in love, true love
